Detecting Malware on an infected system.

For this and tasks that follow use the following link to book a session on NetLAB.

1. Login to the kali system with the username kali and password kali.

2. Open a terminal and start the Apache web server with the following command:

sudo service apache2 start

3. Login to the Windows 10 system.

4. Open Google Chrome.

6. Windows defender should detect and remove this file. (note: eicar.com is a benign malware sample used for testing security software.)

7. Go to Control Panel and open Windows Defender and click on the history tab.

8. Click on All detected items.

9. Take a screenshot and paste it over the image into the table below.

10. Leave the lab session open for the next task.
