Connect to Azure VM from Windows 11 — MobaXterm (SSH)

In this video I show how to connect to your Ubuntu VM on Azure from a Windows 11 PC using MobaXterm — including importing your private key, saving a session, and fixing common SSH errors.

Quick tips

  • Default Ubuntu user on Azure images is ubuntu

  • Ensure Azure NSG allows inbound SSH (TCP 22) from your IP

  • If key format mismatch, convert in PuTTYgen or use OpenSSH format
